Leopard Pencil Portrait

Hi Viewers,

Pencil Portrait needs lot of patience and time..
But result you get out of your patience will be very realistic.
I have used normal A3 paper and Camlin drawing pencils (HB,2B,4B,6B,9B) for this portrait.
Use HB,2B for drawing sharp and light lines.
Use 6B,9B for dark and smooth areas.
Grid line method is very easy and effective method of drawing portraits.
Below are step-by-step pictures of this drawing,

1. Divide your reference picture with Grid
2. Draw reference Grid in your paper and draw outline of Leopard as per reference picture. Concentrate on one Grid at a time and draw outline. Dont think about entire outline while drawing for one Grid. Draw shape you see inside each Grid separately and finally correct outline as per reference picture.

3. Complete eyes first. Use 6B for darker areas. Draw minute hairs in nose are using HB or mechanical pencil

4. Shade mouth areas with 4B and blend it.

5. Draw dark spots in skin using 6B/9B

6. Draw minute hair in skin areas using HB. Blend it with dark spot to create smooth effect

7. Complete dark spots for entire body and draw small hairs for entire skin region. I have smugged right most portion of body to create blur effect as in reference picture

8. Complete leaves with light & dark shades. Darken ear areas and then use eraser to show ear hairs

9. Shade entire background with dark 9B pencils

10. Use eraser to create Whiskers for leopard. Using normal eraser will not render thin whisper. I tried cutting eraser into strips and used it to create whiskers.

Below is the original reference picture,
